China's high pollution is threatining marine and human life

Coastal waters in China now are more polluted than ever due to oil and pesticides which contaminated marine life, especially the shellfish. Tests adopted recently on shellfish showed that it contains large amounts of harmful chemicals, where levels of lead reached 50% higher than standard, cadmium and DDT levels were 40% above normal. Excessive amounts of such chemicals can damage the human nervous system and result in blood and brain disorders. It seems that China is paying the bill for its rapid growth over the past few years which caused increase in the amount of industrial and domestic garbage dumped into the sea.
