Continuous confrontation in Jerusalem

Israel closed any access to the West Bank along with calling forces around the city of Jerusalem and Arab neighborhoods inside the city during the Friday prayer in order to face Palestinian protest about expanding settlements further.

The Vice president of U.S, Joe Biden condemned Israel for building further settlements, today’s news comes as a slap in the face for the Obama Administration where Israel government approved additional units to be built and neglecting all the pressure that has been put by the U.S in order to stop settlement expansion and return to the table of negotiation with Palestinians and push the peace process further.

Police spokesman stated that four Palestinians was arrested today as they were believed that they threw rocks at police forces, injuring two officers in Jerusalem with minor injuries, moreover Israel banned Palestinians from crossing from the West Bank into Israel and Jerusalem while forbidding any men below the age of 50 from entering Al-Aqsa mosque for prayer.

Despite the ban, hundreds of youth Palestinians took the streets in protest in the West Bank and Gaza as in Gaza protesters burned the American and Israeli flags while urging the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas from entering the so called “Proximity talks” with Israel, which the U.S is pushing for.
